Abstract
The compound BaNbS3 - δ was prepared from BaCO3 and NbO2 by CS2 N2 sulfurization. Stoichiometric BaNbS3 is metallic from room temperature to 30K. The sulfur deficient phase BaNbS3 - δ shows a metal-to-semiconductor and/or structural phase transition at 130K.
