Abstract

Entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology form a mutually reinforcing cycle that has catalyzed significant economic, societal, and environmental changes. To explore this intricate relationship, we identify three broad themes: innovation-orientation, digitalization, and the role of institutions. We outline a set of research questions relating to each theme, integrating approaches from different disciplines and connecting issues at various levels. We describe our methods and provide a summary of the papers included in this Special Issue in our results section. In our discussion section, we address the contributions of the Special Issue to current debates. In the future research section, we show how subsequent research built upon our special issue papers has advanced our understanding of the field. Finally, throughout the discussion, future research, and conclusion sections, we discuss the practical implications of the papers in the Special Issue.
