Abstract
Chemical product design has been introduced to the chemical engineering students though the investigation of commercial beer. Issues related to product design such as packaging, properties of interest to consumers, patent information and the importance of marketing are also addressed. Students feedback indicates that the approach is well accepted by the by the students as it provides them the opportunity to consider the design of chemical engineering product. It si observed that students learned teamwork, presentation skills and interdependence of engineering and marketing.
