Abstract

Rubric development for the assessment of undergraduate research program is presented. It is observed that it is difficult to assess the student learning and performance in project based team settings. It is pointed out that it is unreasonable to expect students to achieve specific learning objectives from a series of courses when the faculty members are unclear about the learning objectives. It is suggested that an evidence based approach may help the students to recognize the importance of learning outcomes.
