Rotational structure in the asymmetric OH stretch of CS+(H2O)Ar

Abstract

The rotational structure in the asymmetric OH stretch of Cs+(H2O)Ar was studied. The mode of formation for ion-molecule complexes by using evaporative cooling lead to a broadening of vibrational or vibronic spectra. It was shown that the incorporation of argon into the nascent ion cluster significantly reduced the internal energy of the cluster ions.
