Abstract

The Gore-Tex synthetic knee ligament was widely used in the early 1980s because of encouraging early results. However, the long-term failure rate is unfavorable. Gore-Tex failures are divided into four categories: effusion, graft rupture, loosening/osteolysis, and infection. Revision surgery is challenging and requires a systematic approach to achieve optimal results.
