PSTK: A graphic tool for prostate specimen analysis and visualization

Abstract

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting more and more of the male population. For this reason, we have designed a prostate cancer data repository for research and diagnosis. This repository offers core technologies essential to analysis of prostate image data in varying modalities and in mining of such image data across multiple parameters and treatment methods. A significant feature of the site is the design of prostate specimen tool kit (PSTK) in which surgeons would submit patient data and the web site would return estimated analysis results and solutions for guiding future surgery. Here, we are presenting a first prototype of PSTK, a graphic tool for visually and numerically displaying the coverage results of excised prostate specimens.
