Abstract
We report a rare case of pregnancy in a patient with congenital biliary atresia. Although this is the most common congenital anomaly of the biliary tree, despite corrective surgery, the survival of a patient into adulthood is uncommon. Reports of those reaching adulthood and completing a full-term pregnancy are scarce. We describe a successful pregnancy in a patient with surgically corrected congenital biliary atresia complicated by portal hypertension who survived into adulthood. Complications and management of patients with portal hypertension in pregnancy are also reviewed.
