Abstract
New Cu(III) oxychlorides with the stoichiometry Ba 4 (Cu,M) O 4 Cl 4 (M=Li, Na) have been identified in the title system under ambient synthetic conditions and are found to possess the layered K 2 NiF 4 -type structure.
