N2 - The National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center for Structured Organic Particulate Systems (ERC-SOPS) conducts research related to pharmaceutical technology. Rowan University is one of the Center's Outreach Partners responsible for developing educational materials related to the Center's area of study. Textbook style problems introducing pharmaceutical topics at the level of an introductory chemical engineering course have been created, along with detailed solutions. The problems illustrate subjects and skills students would learn and use if they were to pursue a career in pharmaceutical engineering. The procedure and rationale followed in the development of the problems is outlined, and representative problems with solutions are shown.
