Abstract

A loss-less 1 × 2 Y-junction splitter with 22-dB internal gain at 275-mA drive current with < 1.5 dB imbalance between the two arms was fabricated. The device was designed on the passive active resonant coupler (PARC) platform and uses resonant coupling over a taper to couple optical power between an active and a passive waveguide.
