Abstract
This epilogue explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and the creative process, questioning AI’s role in shaping storytelling, research, and digital equity. Through an experiment prompting generative AI to craft its own origin story, the authors examine the implications of AI’s evolving capabilities, its ethical dilemmas, and the widening digital divide. The chapter considers how social fiction can interrogate these issues, addressing questions of agency, authorship, and technological singularity. By concluding with open-ended reflections, it invites readers to critically engage with the future of AI in knowledge production, storytelling, and societal transformation.
