Abstract
The low-temperature specific heat of several M 2AX phases was investigated. The Debye temperature of these M 2AX phases were found to be very high. At the Fermi level, the density of states, N(E F), was observed to vary from ≅1.4 to 6 (eV formula unit) -1. Calculated results show that the average bulk modulus of these materials was over 100 GPa.
