Abstract
As part of a randomized clinical trial to look at the effectiveness of osteopathic manipulative treatment to boost immunity in nursing home residents, the authors conducted a poststudy survey to determine the effectiveness of the protocols to blind participants and inquire into how beneficial they thought their protocol treatments were. This study adds to a growing body of literature on the use of sham treatments in manual medicine research.
