Abstract
In an Integrated Systems Health Management (ISHM) framework, it is vital to understand the components involved in it. Component Electronic Datasheets (CEDS) will allow a better understanding of complex systems such as ISHM. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) has proved to become an important tool for object-oriented modeling and design of complex systems. Currently, there is no UML model for CEDS (component electronic datasheets). This paper describes our seminal work for the development of a CEDS prototype. We define a partial UML model for CEDS and proceed to implement it in Gensym G2 software. An object oriented approach towards CEDS will allow development engineers snorter development times and operations and ground staff ease of maintenance.
