Abstract

The major structural polypeptides of a type-B oncornavirus, murine mammary tumor virus (MuMTV), were isolated to homogeneity by ion-exchange and molecular sieving chromatography. Viral component proteins included the major envelope glycoproteins (gp68, gp55, and gp34) as well as the internal proteins (p28, p18, p14, and p12). Characterizations of these viral proteins included molecular weights, N-terminal amino acids, and quantitative amino acid analyses.
